Smule's Ocarina

I love both the concept and implementation of Smule's iPhone 'music instrument' application, Ocarina.

The always-fun iJustine:


  • A simple 'quantized' interface musical interface much like the hit video game Rock Band

  • But more expressive, it lets you play anything, not just DDR your way through a song

  • Social, online and off

  • Cheap: USD 99c

  • Community of users

  • Fantastic mapping of iPhone's microphone, multi-touch and motion sensor


This is great design, and in the broadest sense.
